Everyone needs to experience the fireworks at English Bay at least once. You have to arrive early to secure a spot but nothing comes close to the lively atmosphere of English Bay during the Celebration of Lights.

If you’re a resident in Kits, this is the place for you. Located across False Creek from English Bay Beach. It’s usually packed on during the fireworks but if you head down there a bit early, you can score some of the best spots.

If you want something a bit calmer, you can avoid the hustle and bustle of downtown at Kits beach. It’s just west of Vanier Park. You'll find it to quite busy on a sunny afternoon but once it calms down you should be able to snag a spot on the sandy shore.

Jericho Beach has some of the best vantage points for the fireworks. For those in the West end, this is the place for you. It’s usually a bit crowded but the atmosphere is always exciting. You’re guaranteed a good time.

If you’re in a romantic mood and want to avoid the big beach crowds, how about a nighttime stroll around town? You can quickly head over to the Burrard Bridge to watch the fireworks. The view is breathtaking at this location. If it’s a bit too crowded, you can try the Granville Bridge.

Another way to avoid the crowds is to take a walk around the seawall at English Bay. You can take the family out for some ice cream and fireworks without having to elbow your way through a crowd.
