By Scuba Diver Life

Not every locale is ideal for the budding diver, but these destinations make the grade for our newest underwater explorers.

  • Utila

If you want to skip the crowds, have world-class diving, and love a welcoming, family atmosphere for a low price, book a trip here for your introduction to the underwater world.

  • Australia

Head down under to spoil your new diving buddies with big animals on a massive reef system. Most areas don’t require much swimming and the water is almost always warm.

  • Bahamas

These islands have such reliably warm, clear, and calm waters that choosing which umbrella drink you'll have afterwards will be the hardest part of your day. Bonus - the diving is incredible.

  • Virgin Islands

Whether it’s the US or British side, these islands have countless easy dive sites with shallow wrecks, clear visibility, and no current. Fantastic place to give night diving a try.

  • Bonaire

Hesitant about boat diving? This is a shore diving mecca. Jump off a pier or walk in from a beach to immerse yourself in crystal clear waters packed with interesting animals.

  • Hawaii

It may not be the cheapest option, but the islands here have year-round warm, clear water, both boat and shore options, lots of cool animals, and plenty of sandy bottoms that make skill practice easy.

  • Florida Keys

The quintessential beginner area, the Keys have seemingly unlimited shallow reefs, warm waters, lots of sea-life, and tons of dive shop choices.  No shore dives here, but boat options are plentiful.
